Environment & Nature
We combine knowledge of nature, environmental impact assessment and the practical planning of the project. You’ll receive a clear roadmap from a single partner, covering everything from preliminary studies through to the EIA, planning permission, construction and monitoring.
We identify project risks at an early stage so that we can still influence the planning process
Essential studies and surveys – Better decisions
Nature and biodiversity surveys
We will assess the natural values of the project area at the appropriate time and to the appropriate extent. We will carry out surveys of vegetation and habitat types, as well as surveys of bird, bat, flying squirrel, moor frog and other species, and assessments of ecological connectivity.
Some of the surveys we offer:
Flying squirrel survey
Moor frog survey
Vegetation and habitat type survey
Bat survey
Bat survey
Bat survey
Large carnivore survey including wolf, lynx, bear etc.
Different bird surveys: nesting bird survey, owl survey, flight route survey of diurnal birds of prey, migration monitoring of birds and flocks of resting birds etc.
Game survey
European beaver survey
Snow tracks of mammals
Otter survey
Butterfly survey
Survey of dragonflies
Underwater surveys and sediment sampling
Occurrence surveys of endangered or other species
Genetic analyses and eDNA work
Drone photography
EIA procedures and Natura assessments
We guide the EIA process from the preliminary studies through to the assessment programme, the impact assessment and the assessment report. We coordinate the studies, planning, and cooperation with the authorities and stakeholder engagement into a single, well-managed whole. Additionally, we prepare Natura assessments and needs assessments.

Restoration and ecological compensation
We help put the mitigation hierarchy into practice. We plan restoration and compensation measures, calculate the number of hectares of natural value, and produce the documentation required for processing by the authorities.

Water, stormwater and soil
We carry out surface water and groundwater studies, stormwater and water management plans, soil surveys, and assessments of the impacts during construction and operation.

Landscape, climate and the circular economy
We complement the project portfolio with landscape and cultural environment assessments, emissions calculations, circular economy assessments and practical environmental consultancy services, from design through to construction.

Environmental work is not a side issue
It is part of project management
01
Identify
We conduct a preliminary study which includes identifying risks related to nature, permits and planning before any major decisions are made.
02
Target
We target and focus on only the studies and fieldwork that are essential for the project, meaning unnecessary studies are not carried out.
03
Combine
We make sure that EIA, planning, technical design, permits and stakeholder engagement all progress at the same pace.
04
Confirm
We confirm that recommendations are incorporated into plans, permits, construction, monitoring and practical measures.

Make sure you get it right
As early as possible. Many species and habitat surveys are tied to a specific time of year. An early preliminary survey helps to ensure that the right fieldwork periods are booked and prevents the project from being delayed.
We assess the type, scale, location and likely impacts of the project. Where necessary, we prepare a well-founded EIA scoping report and provide support in discussions with the authorities.
Yes. Timelines, studies, alternatives and stakeholder engagement should be planned as a single integrated process. This reduces duplication of work and ensures that planning information is available at the right time.
The work may include an assessment of the adverse impact, a review of the mitigation hierarchy, the calculation of hectares of natural value, the planning of the compensation area and measures, as well as application and monitoring documentation.
